I can’t believe tomorrow marks one year since Ava had open heart surgery to repair her AVSD. I found out during my 20 week anatomy scan about the heart defect. When she was born, she ended up back in the hospital around 2 weeks old for heart failure. When she was born, she should of been on lasix, but wasn’t. After getting prescribed lasix, we were able to wait until she was 4 months old to get her heart repaired. We now go every 6 months for a follow-up echocardiogram and eventually that will g
