For some dishes the name pays tribute to its origin. These Powidltascherl are marked in my old recipe as “from Brno”, a city in the Eastern part of the Czech Republic 2 hrs north of Vienna. Mostly these Powidltascherl are referred to as “Bohemian” though - which historically would be the western part of today’s Czech Republic.
